Differential Diagnosis

History: A 10-year-old boy who is a known case of xeroderma pigmentosum with positive family history of similar condition in three out of four of his brothers and sisters. He suffered a rounded, disk-like, vascular nodule pedinculated from the tip of the tongue of about six months duration. Easily bleeding of the lesion with minor touch was the main complaint of the patient. It was diagnosed as pyogenic granuloma and excised with cauterization under local anesthesia.
