Differential Diagnosis


Pyogenic granuloma is an exuberant overgrowth of granulation tissue, frequently occurring in the oral cavity, most often involving the gingiva. I t may also occur on the buccal mucosa, lip, tongue, or palate. It is a red to reddish-purple, soft, nodular mass that bleeds easily and grows rapidly, but is usually not painful. When it develops during pregnancy it is called pregnancy tumor or granuloma gravidarum
