Differential Diagnosis

History: Thrush or acute pseudomembranous candidosis is caused by candida albicans and it may be observed in healthy neonates or in persons in whom antibiotics, corticosteroids, or xerostomia disturb the oral microflora.  This child responded dramatically to topical miconazole gel.
