A 35-year-old man suffered recurrent episodes of painful oral ulcers of three years duration. He presented with one relatively large rounded ulcer with a yellowish base and surrounded by red halo on the buccal mucosa of one week duration. He had no associated features of Behcet's disease. Oral dapsone 100 mg a day gave significant relief within few days.
