Differential Diagnosis

History: Bromoderma typically causes acneiform eruptions but can cause  abscess like lesions as in this case.Violaceous nodules on the face that  can be mistaken for lymphoma of the skin is a common presentation. There is no correlation between the plasma levels of bromide and the severity of the clinical lesions.Bromides are excreted in breast milk.Bromoderma also comes into the differential diagnosis of inflammatory plaques with pustules in the advancing edge similar to blastomycosis. When the source of the bromide is ceased the lesions rapidly disappear.
