Differential Diagnosis

History: Kaposi's sarcoma has been described in five separate clinical presentations.In Western countries it is ususally seen in patients with HIV infection.Lesions can be in many forms ranging from macular bruising,plaques,papules and vascular nodules.Internal involvement is seen mostly in HIV associated cases.Visceral lesions are commonly seen in the lungs,gastrointestinal tract and lymph nodes.The condition is due to Herpes virus Type8 infection.
