History:

Patch pityriasiform lichenoid eczema was first reported by  Kitamura in 1966.  It presents as solitary or mutiple hypopigmented plaques cosisting of multiple follicular keratototic papules.  The skin condition usually worsens during the cold season. A small number of patients eventually develop conventional atopic dermatitis.
