History:

This patient presented with many hemispherical papules and nodules with keratotic surface on both lower legs of about four months duration. All lesions had crater-like central depressions filled with keratotic material. The lesions were neither painful nor tender. Skin biopsy was taken from one lesion and confirmed the diagnosis of keratoacanthoma. Multiple keratoacanthomas are frequently referred to as Ferguson Smith type of self-healing keratoacanthomas. They can occur in any number but mostly 3 to 10 lesions are noted. The lesions commonly involve the face, trunk and genitalia. Young men are most frequent age group affected.
