History:

This young girl was a poorly controlled diabetic who had developed these lesions on her leg over a period of two years.She had injured one of the plaques which then broke down into this deep ulcer.These ulcers are very difficult to heal because of the poor blood supply due to her diabetes.

Necrobiosis lipoidica can precede or occur concurrently with diabetes.
