History: This 2-year-old boy presented with the development of erythematous macerated plaques in the axillae associated with pruritus.  The lesions had irregular margins with surrounding satellite papules and pustules.  Intertrigo is an inflammatory condition affecting skin folds, induced or aggravated by heat, moisture, maceration and friction.  It is commonly colonized by candidal infection.
