History: Five years ago a solitary lesion of cutaneous leishmaniasis involved the lateral part of the face ended with a large atrophic scar. At last three months new asymptomatic soft dull red papules have appeared in the center of the scarred area of the previous lesion. Biopsy revealed histologic features consistent with the diagnosis of leishmania recidivans. The lesions in classical cases of L. recidivans usually recur from the periphery of the previous scar whereas in the present case recurrence was from the center of the scarred area.
