History: Solitary painless ulcer developed at the root of the penis of 4 weeks duration. It appeared approximately 2-3 weeks after heterosexual activity. The ulcer was non tender and with hard cartilage-like consistency on palpation. VDRL and TPHA were negative and the lesion has been eradicated after single injection of bezathine penicillin 2.4 mega units intramuscularly.
