More than one year history of irregularly-shaped hyperpigmented patch 8 cm in greatest diameter with many features suggestive of melanoma (all ABCDE criteria were applicable to this lesion) on the side of the foot. There was no lymph node enlargement and no distant metastasis. Skin biopsy revealed acral lentiginous melanoma.
