Differential Diagnosis

History:

Multiple, white, scale-like glistening bodies attached to the eyelashes (seborrhoeic blephiritis- like picture) noticed since one month. Light microscopic examination of these bodies showed nits. Nits on the eyelashes are usually caused by the pubic (crab) louse (Phthirus pubis). However, this boy had no other evidence of pediculosis pubis elsewhere and negative family history of such condition.
