History: This lady presented with an itchy neck showing features of excoriation and lichenification from chronic rubbing. However when her hair was examined she showed numerous empty egg cases of Pediculosis capitis attached firmly to the hair shafts. In an apparent dermatitis of the posterior neck always look for nits in the hair.It is easier to see the egg cases than it is to see the louse itself.
