History:

Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) is a group of inherited bullous disorders characterized by  blistering in response to mechanical trauma.  EB is classified into 3 major categories

(1) epidermolysis bullosa simplex

(2) junctional epidermolysis bullosa

(3) dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa

Onset of EB is at birth or shortly after except in mild cases of EBS, which may remain undetected until adulthood.
