History:

Erosive pustular dermatosis of the scalp is usually seen in elderly males with significant solar damage of the scalp.It can occur denovo and after treatment of the solar damage by surgery or cryotherapy.Swabs of the pustules are generally sterile.A similar condition has been described on the legs under occlusive dressings.The cause is unknown.Some cases respond to oral erythromycin but others do better with topical steroid creams and lotions.

A recent letter to Derm Surgery suggests Tacrolimus
