History:

Green nail syndrome is a paronychial infection caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa  The individuals whose hands frequently are submerged in water, are more susceptible to get affected.   Pseudomonas is a gram-negative rod belonging to the family Pseudomonadaceae. Most of the clinical isolates produce the blue-green pigment pyocyanin. These bacteria are widespread in nature, inhabiting soil, water, plants, and animals.
