History:

An interesting finding in this case is that many grey-white hairs are seen within the patches of hair loss! These white hairs may indicate one of two possibilities:

(1) Some regrowing hairs (spontaneously or treatment-induced) might assume white color.

(2) White hairs may resist fall much more than black hairs in alopecia areata.

The history usually outweighs one of these two possibilities!
