History:

 A 10-month-old infant presented with bilateral well-demarcated eczematous-psoriasiform red scaly and moist rash characteristically involved the periorificial areas (mouth, nose, eyes, ears, vagina and anus) of one month duration. Her paerents are relative however there was no similar family history. Ginger-colored thin hair (alopecia), diarrhoea and irritibility were other features. Serum zinc level was lower than normal . She responded dramatically with 1-2 weeks to oral zinc therapy.
