History:

Patient of Dr P Barua

29 yrs male, lesions on his groin. Recurrent, increase in hot humid condition.
Scrapping positive for fungus.
Diagnosed as TINEA CRURIS.
RX : Topical Xfin Cream (Terbinafin) for 4 wks
Advice : Proper hygiene and compliance

Could oral Terbinafin/Grisofulvin play better role in this case? prevent recurrence?

Now this is a superb example of Tinea cruris and the second image appears to show an inward pointing or trailing scale.  4 weeks of topical Lamasil may work but it is usually best to advise using it for 2 weeks after the rash appears clear. Oral terbinafin would be more effective in the longer term but probably a lot more expensive or do you have access to cheap generics in Bangladesh? (Submitted By: Dr Ian McColl)
