History:

Patient of Dr

A couple presented with lichen simplex chronicus in the genital area. Also they had scrub itch all the time,as they live in the bush in North Queensland.
Papular urticaria in the genital area showed a few larva ,first time I used a dermatoscope for scrub itch . Worth checking .Pretty buggers ,too. This is a larva of
Trombicula hirsti ,a mite . They can stay attached for a few days,
but are not vectors for scrub typhus.Unfortunately, they are very common here.
I postulate that the scrub itch fuels their LSC.

Very good case. I have not seen this demonstrated before with the dermatoscope. (Submitted By: Dr Ian McColl)
