History:

Telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans is a rarer variant of urticaria pigmentosa where the macules are more red than brown in colour. They still urticate on rubbing. Patients may well have excess mast cells in the bone marrow. It can be treated with PUVA or nbUVB plus antihistamines to mop up any released histamine from the excess mast cells in the macules
