History: Lymhangiomas are congenital malformations of the lymphatic system that may invove the skin and subcutaneous tissues.  Lymphangiomas are categorized as lymphangioma cicumscriptum, cavernous lymphangioma, and cystic hygroma based on the size and depth of the abnormal lymph vessels.   Lymphangioma cicumscriptum is characterized by persistent, multiple clusters of translucent 2-4 mm vesiculobullae which are infact superficial saccular dilations from underlying lymphatic vessels.  The vesicles may be clear or hemorhagic.   Commonly involved sites are the proximal extremities, trunk; axillae, and tongue.
