Differential Diagnosis

History: Urticaria, usually referred to as hives, is the most everyday dermatologic chaos seen in the ED, and it’s annoying for the patients and for us as doctors. It emerges as raised, well-circumscribed areas of erythema above the surrounding skin, its actually edema involving the dermis and epidermis that are extremely pruritic. Urticaria may be acute (lasting less than 6 wk) or chronic (lasting more than 6 wk). There are many kinds of it.
