History:

A 17-year-old male had history of multiple erythematous plaques on the face since age of 4 years. He had been treated with topical corticosteroids for many years. He is presented with multiple rounded to oval erythematous plaques involving the face bilaterally with maximum involvement on the butterfly area. Some lesions ended with scar formation and some had left postinflammatory hyperpigmentation with hypopigmented halos. Multiple telangiectases on the nose from unwise use of topical corticosteroids for long time were prominent. Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) usually affects adult people; however it may occur in children with long chronic course as in this case.
